To select a file that needs to be scrubbed against the National, State or Personal (In-House) list click on Scrub button from the top menu and follow the wizard.
The file that needs to be scrubbed must be in .TXT or .CSV format.
If you have a database with phone numbers export it in one of the above formats before you scrub the file.
If you have a phone number list in Excel format save the file by clicking on File – Save as… from the top menu and choose “Text (Tab delimited)” or CSV “(Comma delimited)” then click Save.
You have the option to scrub a phone number list against the national, state or in-house do not call list by selecting the corresponding boxes. By default all list are enabled.
Once you selected a phone number list that needs to be scrubbed, SafeList will automatically pick the columns containing phone numbers.
The selected columns are marked by asymbol and will be shown in the column located on the right side of the screen as seen in the picture below.
Output Options For The Scrubbed Files:
Once the file is scrubbed, SafeList offers 3 output options:
- [File] Output records to different files for different results - this will create 4 different files of the scrubbed list as follows (by default, this option is enabled):
OK - a new file with numbers that were not found in the do not call list
DNC - a new file with numbers found in the do not call list
INVALID - a new file with the fields that had values not in the US standard phone format
UNKNOWN - a new file with the phone numbers with the area codes that were not found in the imported do not call list
- [New Field] Output results to new field(s) - this will create additional columns to your list and will mark each phone number as follows:
OK - number was not found in the do not call list
DNC - number was found in the do not call list
INVALID - the value of the filed is not in US standard phone format
UNKNOWN - phone number area code was not found in the imported do not call list
Note: OK, DNC, INVALID & UNKNOWN are the default values which can be changed according to your needs.
- [Prefix] Output to one file - this will add a character in front of the phone number as follows:
OK to Call Prefix - by default this field is left blank; the phone numbers that were not found in the do not call list will not be marked
Do Not Call Prefix - a number found in the do not call list will be marked with “*”
Invalid Prefix - the value of the filed that is not in US standard phone format will be marked with “!”
Unknown Prefix - the phone number area code was not found in the imported do not call list and will be marked with “?”
Note: *, ! and ? are the default values which can be changed according to your needs.
